No training wheels needed

The first Sunday in May we were up at Nate & Sara's for family dinner. They had a couple bikes outside with training wheels on them. Andrew had never been on a bike with peddles before, he's had a balance bike since he was 2. He is really good on that little balance bike. He can fly down the road with his legs up with perfect balance. He wore out 2 balance bikes and was on his third. So at family dinner he jumped on one of the bikes with training wheels and rode all around the house the entire time we were there.

The next day he wanted me to get the little yellow bike down for him to ride. I got it down, adjusted the seat, held it for him while he figured out the peddles and off he went. He never looked back. It took him all of 5 mins to have it mastered.

He was so very proud of his newly mastered skill! For the next few weeks he was outside the moment he woke up until he went to bed. I'd ask him if he wanted breakfast...Nope, just want to ride my bike. Ready for lunch?...Nope, I just want to ride my bike. Up and down the street he went on that little bike all day long. He was so excited to show anyone who would watch him what he could do.
We got that little yellow bike from my brother. His oldest son, Tyson, used it. Tyson is 17 now. We have worn out the tires on that thing. Every one of our kids, so far, has learned to ride a bike on that little yellow bike. It has been a very loved little bike!
