A few weeks ago my dad mentioned to my mom that he'd heard that people going through chemo and radiation, as he is, do better when they've got a cat or a dog. Obviously he'd been thinking about this a while before he said it. Christmas eve we decided to go "look" at the pet store to see what they had. I was with my mom and little sister Julianne. When we got there we saw this little guy, Julianne fell in love. Mom asked to hold it, and to make a long story short he came home with us. Dad was thrilled! He is a puganeese (pug and pekingese mix). So darn cute! He is just over 2lbs now, but should grow to around 10-15lbs. His name has changed a few times, but I think right now it's Chewy.
This would be his favorite spot to sleep. The puppy and dad take many naps together each day.
And Hanna is ecstatic that there is something smaller than her that she can tote around, and surprisingly enough the puppy doesn't mind at all. He loves to play with the kids. He climbs all over them and doesn't seem to mind having little hands carry him all around.
Now if only we can potty train him....any tips?

oh this is so sweet. hence why we have so many animals (no self control)
He is so cute! I think animals can be so therapeutic.
What a cute puppy, your dad looks so pleased with him. :) Hanna is getting so big! So is my Hannah, time flies doesn't it!
That is a really cute puppy! I bet that he will bring a lot of comfort to your dad.
He is so cute...our dogs nick name is nibbles and boy does chewy fit a puppy's personality!! Hope your dad is doing well I'm sure if he's anything like you Janel he's a fighter with a kind heart :)
We just conquered potty training...now if we can get Big Kahuna to stop eating his poop I will be happy yuck!!
We used a potty pad for our dog just cause he's a litte guy with a little bladder so he pees all day long and knows right where to go. The potty pad holder is like 14 dollars at walmart and we just buy reams of butcher paper from a party store and cut it out to fit the pad holder cause the pads are way over priced and our doggy liked to chew it :) Consistency is HUGE so hit it hot and heavy and give lots of treats when they do what you want. Their bladders are tiny so every time they drink make sure your are putting them on it like literally 5 minutes after. Also right after they have a playful burst of energy, and every 3 hours. After they are 4-5 months they usually can hold their bladder all night.
When they have an accident clean it up soak up all the pee and then clean the area thoroughly with a non ammonia based cleaner cause ammonia mimics the smell of their pee and draws them back to have an accident in the same area...BAD.
Anywho that's what we've learned in 8 months of puppy-hood. Hope you guys are doing well. We miss u!
