Carter celebrated his 10th birthday this year. His birthday was on a Sunday so we had plenty of time to celebrate all day long. He choose crepes for breakfast (no surprise there). He wanted everything to go with it...cream filling, strawberries, raspberries, bananas, chocolate syrup, cookie butter, coconut syrup. Then he wanted potatoes, eggs, bacon and sausage on the side. It was quite the spread. He changed things up a bit for his 'normal' birthday dinner, he asked for tri-tip and twice baked potatoes, just like daddy. The Friday before his birthday we took him out to get Pho, he had been wanting to try it for so long. It did not disappoint, he loved it! We have late church right now so right after church we got on skype with my family in UT. The kids love to skype on birthdays. He opened all the gifts and cards that had come for him. He got a BYU hoodie from Jamie that he has worn every single day since he got it. He got a microscope from Grandma and Grandpa Hunter. Flagmeiers sent him a dollar, and Grandma and Grandpa Lyman sent him $20 that he used to buy a rapid strike nerf gun (pretty much a nerf machine gun). We ate dinner quickly and then cleaned it up because some friends were coming over to have cake and ice cream with us. Having friends makes celebrating birthdays so much better!
Carter had been asking for a few months if he could have a birthday party. I decided that he could invite 4 friends and we'd go to the trampoline park and then have pizza. They had a blast! One hour is all the time you need in one of those places, the boys were so hot and sweaty by the time we left! We came back to our house and had pizza and decorated cupcakes. He loved the little party. He had the best 10th birthday ever---or so he says.
