Our house has been listed for sale. For real. With a realtor. (holy cow the money it costs to sell a house!)We are still in shock I think. We've been talking about PA (physician assistant) for so long. Since before Trent was even accepted to nursing school at UVU he applied for PA school. It's really hard to get into. The program he applied for (and has been accepted for) is through the Army. They take 10 national guards men, from the entire country. There are many many that apply, hundreds that apply. The first time he applied he was still in Iraq, he made the #9 slot, but unfortunately they had to recycle 7 people (7 failed) and only took 3 that round. And shortly after that we found out he got into nursing school so we decided to not apply again for PA school.
A little over a year ago Trent commissioned in the National Guard with the intention of applying to PA school again. It seemed like so many things got in our way of applying. In order to apply he had to complete BOLC (basic officer leadership course), there were no slots available for when he needed to go. He had to have it completed before his packet for PA school could be submitted and the classes were all full. There wasn't an open spot till March '13 his packet was due Feb '13. At the beginning of Sep '12 he was notified of a slot opening up and was asked if he wanted it, the class was from Sep 26 till Oct 23. (I think!) We took it. Sometime in there they changed the requirements for PA school wanting all prereq's to be less than 8 years old, before it was 10 and he was close on a few of those dates. We knew that we had exactly one shot to get in without having to retake a whole bunch of classes, that little change screwed us up big time. After some talking to a few people they decided to grandfather his transcripts in as they had already been approved. Which getting them approved was a huge fiasco. University of Nebraska gave the ok on his transcripts but the National Guard recruiter that is over the applicants in Utah told him they hadn't been approved. Turns out she just didn't like him and was giving him a super hard time about it. Then we had trouble getting a time set up for him to take his SAT, and then once he took it we had difficulty getting the results. It seemed like some many things got in the way of him applying. But it happened, the packet went in on March 1st. It took till the first week of April till we found out he had gotten in. We are so excited!!
We move to San Antonio at the end of July, where he will be attending school at Fort Sam Huston. It is a super hard program, very demanding, but I am confident that he will do well. We will be there for just over a year and then head out to a phase II site where he will do his clinical rotations. The phase II sites are all over the country and we won't know which site we will go to till just before we go.
We have been talking about moving to TX for so long now, it's a little surreal that it's actually going to happen. We are all really excited, but at the same time so sad to be leaving our wonderful neighborhood and ward. We have loved living here and getting to know so many wonderful people. We will miss them!
So here is to hoping and praying that our house sells before we go. We are working with a wonderful relator who came in and staged our house, so hopefully we can get it sold.

Your house looks perfect! Oh, how we are going to miss you people! But your family is still here in Utah, so we WILL be seeing you around ;)
Good luck! Much love to you all!
WOW! Good look!!! Thats crazy!!
We are really bummed to see you all go - but so happy for this wonderful opportunity for you. If Trent had that much opposition getting into the Program, then it must be completely right and important for you to go. But you will definitely be missed here in the neighborhood and Ward! :-(
I will be so sad when you leave but am so happy for you guys!
